A Big Leap

I have always been one to play it safe. Maybe too safe, I’ve come to realize. After some thrilling smaller ventures away from my familiar life, I’m ready to take a big leap. Follow along on my volunteer journey to India.

Phase 2 March 9, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — Amy @ 8:29 am

I need to keep it brief because we have about 30 new volunteers that just came in and only the 2 computers still!

I’m leaving tomorrow, bright and early, for the second part of my journey – Dharamsala!  I have very mixed feelings about this, leaving everything here and especially leaving my kids.  But it seems like it will be beautiful up there and my group seems very lovely.  I’m one of the younger ones this time around, which I think will be interesting.  There’s a man who’s 87 – Grandpa, maybe you should think about CCS!

A quick attempt at pictures from this weekend’s trip to Amritsar – I saw the Golden Temple and the border into Pakistan!

It’s being a pain and won’t put up the thumbnail so I’ll have to link to it:

Will write after I get to Dharamsala.  I have to go BACK on the train thru Amritsar tomorrow because they couldn’t get a flight for us up there.  Meaning I’ll be seeing the lovely Golden Temple again tomorrow.  It’s amazing, but I don’t feel a pressing need to see it again a day later.  Oh well!  Should be an interesting adventure, my second half!

PS: I am no longer camera-less, thanks to my AMAZING PARENTS. ❤ ❤ ❤

Good luck on your journey to the next place. I know you’ll be sad leaving the children, it looks like it was an amazing experience. Can’t wait to hear about the next phase! 🙂
