A Big Leap

I have always been one to play it safe. Maybe too safe, I’ve come to realize. After some thrilling smaller ventures away from my familiar life, I’m ready to take a big leap. Follow along on my volunteer journey to India.

I thought you might all want to see what kind of living situation we have here, so I took some pictures. It’s not as cushy as Delhi but to be able to go out on my balcony and look at the mountains and the valley is just amazing.

We get quite generous shelving here – my stuff is on the right (can you see my massive hair products?), Elissa on the left. This holds my junk much better than my previous room!

From this angle, my bed’s on the left. I don’t have the little bulletin board to put up my pictures this time.

Our kitchen, which happily had everything I needed to make my plain pasta when I was sick:

The desk/dining area, looking out toward the balcony:

The house from the front (I’m in the upstairs flat):

And two pictures of the path we walk on.  You can see it’s a footpath, we’re a 5-10 minute walk from any actual road.

So that’s where I’m living! Pictures are uploading slowly right now so I’ll try to get the ones from our excursions up tomorrow.  Hopefully WordPress won’t botch the formatting of this post as well!
